Capital advises Koto on its acquisition of Stereo Creative

Capital has advised Koto (backed by WestBridge) on its acquisition of Stereo Creative, Koto’s first acquisition since WestBridge’s investment in April 2025.

The acquisition is a significant step in Koto’s strategy to continue building a global agency group and brings together 230 people across eight studios. Koto has grown consistently since being founded in 2015 and has established a global reputation for brand transformation and creative excellence. Stereo bring a portfolio of client relationships, including Nike, Arsenal, FIFA, Converse, EA Sports, Twitch and Bumble.

The Corporate and Private Equity team was led by Gareth Williams-Davies and supported by Sarah Hale, Nicole Crumbie, Sadie Vidal, Gruffydd Ford and Ryan Lenihan, with specialist advice provided by colleagues across the firm’s Employment, Pensions, Commercial and Real Estate teams.

James Greenfield, CEO at Koto, said:

This is an important milestone for Koto and a strong first acquisition for the business since WestBridge’s investment last year. Stereo brings an outstanding client portfolio, complementary capabilities, and further builds on Koto’s well established international scale and US presence.”

Ed Minton, director at WestBridge, said:

The acquisition is an important part of Koto’s strategy to continue building a scaled global creative group through a combination of organic growth and carefully selected acquisitions. We believe that there is a significant opportunity to bring together high-quality, values-aligned creative businesses and give them the platform and international reach to serve a growing global market.

We’re delighted to welcome the Stereo team and look forward to supporting the Koto team as they continue to build a global studio network.

We’re pleased to have been supported by Capital on this strategically significant acquisition for Koto. Their experience and commercial approach were invaluable in getting the deal over the line, and we look forward to working with them again as Koto continues to grow.”

Gareth Williams-Davies, Partner in the Corporate & Private Equity team at Capital Law, said:

Koto continues to go from strength to strength, and it has been fantastic to work alongside the Koto and WestBridge teams to deliver this first milestone acquisition. We’re looking forward to seeing what this next chapter brings as Koto’s global studio network grows.”
