Case study: successful appeal against football supervision order

We were instructed to represent a football manager in North Wales in an appeal against a decision by the Football Association of Wales (FAW) to impose a supervision order.

The FAW’s decision followed an earlier suspension from football arising from allegations made against the client. Those allegations had already been reviewed by the police, who took no further action and issued an official apology.

When asked to provide the apology email so that the suspension could be lifted, our client did so promptly, while redacting confidential information.

Despite this, the FAW imposed a supervision order on the basis of concerns about the client’s honesty and integrity.

We represented the client at the appeal hearing, explained the circumstances in full, and successfully secured the removal of the supervision order.
