Capital acts for Insurtech Digital Assets start up in £400k investment
Digital Asset Services (DAS), an Insurance based business, has received investment from Angels Invest Wales as part of its second Wales Angel Co-investment Fund investment.
Digital Asset Services (DAS), a leading Welsh Insurtech Digital Assets start up, has completed its £400,000 investment round made up from Angels Invest Wales and Hambro Perks InsurTech Gateway. Our Corporate team acted for DAS, advising it on its investment from the new investor syndicate.
DAS launched in 2018, and is led by chief executive David Janczewski, who spent several years leading The Royal Mint’s blockchain-enabled digital gold initiative and providing advice to other blockchain projects. Along with co-founders Ben Davis and Adam Smith, Janczewski is now leading DAS to develop a security and insurance product, built on blockchain infrastructure, intended to reduce the risks of holding and using digital assets such as cryptocurrencies.
Cath Golledge, who worked on the investment, said:
It’s been brilliant working with DAS to secure this investment, the size of which will allow it to grow and realise its business’ potential. The experience of the investor syndicate will also be invaluable – I look forward to watching DAS make a real difference to the digital asset market.”
David Janczewski said:
Cath and the team at Capital Law provided excellent advice and guidance that enabled us to complete our investment round. I look forward to continuing our relationship with Capital Law and calling on their expertise in the digital asset sector as the business develops.”
