Advising Cowells Arrow on the acquisition of Automatic Machine Services

Cowells Arrow, the UK subsidiary of charitable gaming products giant Arrow International Inc, has acquired the assets of Automatic Machine Services (AMS), a distributor of gaming and leisure equipment in the South-East.

Capital Law’s corporate team advised Cowells Arrow on the deal. The Capital team was made up of Tom Kelleher, Gareth Williams-Davies, Mel Williams, Cath James and Angharad Jones.

Cowells Arrow and AMS have enjoyed a commercial relationship through the supply of bingo tickets, dabbers, lottery tickets and vending machines since 2017.

The acquisition now enables Arrow to enter the UK gaming machine market while expanding services and products to both Cowells Arrow’s and AMS’ customers.

Arrow acquired AMS from its Managing Director Jason Jarrett, who will remain with the company going forward and join Cowells Arrow.

Tony Lister, Managing Director of Cowells Arrow, said:

We are thrilled to welcome AMS into the Arrow organisation and the acquisition is another step forward with our ambitious growth strategy. This is the first deal we have completed with Capital Law and we were extremely well supported by Tom, Gareth, Mel, Angharad and the other members of the Capital team. Capital’s understanding of the UK M&A market combined with their commercial approach were invaluable to us and we look forward to working with the team again in the future.”

Gareth Williams-Davies, Senior Associate at Capital Law, said:

We were delighted to advise Cowells Arrow on what is a really exciting transaction for all connected with the Arrow Group. AMS seem like an excellent fit for Cowells Arrow and we wish them every success in what is sure to be a successful journey. Tony, Bobby and the other members of the Arrow team were a pleasure to work with and we look forward to working with them again very soon!”
