Capital Law advises Freight Logistics Solutions on Development Bank Wales exit and NatWest funding deal
We have recently advised Freight Logistics Solutions (FLS) on the successful exit of the Development Bank of Wales and its new loan facility with NatWest Bank Plc.
The Development Bank of Wales’s exit comes just four years after its £2.2 million investment in FLS, supporting the company to become one of the UK’s leading providers of end-to-end supply chain solutions. FLS has now secured a seven-figure loan facility with NatWest, enabling it to return to private ownership and continue its expansion across the UK and Europe. The company has recently acquired Lithuanian firm Logiquanta, as well as creating more than 20 new jobs at its south Wales headquarters.
Founded in 2016 and based in Pontypool, FLS provides tailored delivery solutions and innovative carbon tracking software that helps clients reduce emissions and improve supply chain efficiency.
FLS were advised by our Corporate and Private Equity team, led by Laura Spendiff, alongside Emma King, Ffion Butler-Rees and Debt Finance Partner, Chris Lewis.
Laura Spendiff, Partner at Capital Law, said:
We have worked with FLS for many years and it’s fantastic to see the company growing. Supporting them through this transaction has been rewarding and we look forward to seeing their continued expansion into European markets and their creation of high-quality jobs in south Wales.
Ieuan Rosser, CEO of FLS, said:
This marks an exciting new chapter for FLS. The support from the Development Bank of Wales has been instrumental in helping us scale, innovate, and strengthen our position as a UK leader in sustainable logistics. Securing the new funding facility with NatWest allows us to accelerate our growth plans, continue investing in our carbon-tracking technology, and create even more high-quality jobs here in south Wales. We’re incredibly proud of what the team has achieved so far, and we’re looking forward to driving the next phase of expansion across the UK and Europe.
