Capital advise RJD Partners on management buyout of leading land and measured building surveyor, Survey Solutions

RJD Partners specialises in UK private equity investments in platform companies operating within niches in the consumer and services sectors with enterprise values of up to £50 million.

RJD  has invested in the management buyout and equity release of Land Survey Solutions (Holdings) Limited, a leading provider of land and measured building surveys to clients across the UK. This is the fifth investment from RJD’s third buyout fund, and continues RJD’s successful investment track record in the specialist services sector.

Survey Solutions is a surveying business which delivers projects nationwide for a diverse customer base, and is led by its founder, James Cooper. RJD has taken a significant stake in the business and will work alongside the management team to continue its growth trajectory. The investment in Survey Solutions builds on RJD’s track record in niche services businesses, following successful investments such as Babington, Ipes and Teaching Personnel.

Our Corporate team, led by Tom Kelleher and Gareth Williams-Davies, advised RJD on the management buyout.

Tom Kelleher, Partner in the Corporate and Commercial team, said:

“We have known RJD for some time and it was therefore great to be able to work together, an experience which the whole team enjoyed. Survey Solutions is a great business with an ambitious management team and a perfect fit for RJD. We wish RJD, James and the rest of Survey Solutions all the best for  the next stage of the company’s development.”

Emily Henderson, Investment Manager, RJD Partners comments:

“We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of Survey Solutions supported by Capital Law. Tom and his team are experienced in running private equity transactions and they provided us with robust legal advice throughout the transaction, whilst at the same time always thinking commercially. Despite the Capital team working from Cardiff and RJD being based in London, we developed a good working relationship on what was our first transaction using the firm.”
