Tom is a Solicitor in our Commercial Disputes team.

Tom deals with a range of property disputes and leads the team’s planning disputes work. He has experience working on small and large-scale development proposals. Tom advises commercial developers on risk identification and mitigation in early development stages, and also at appeals against planning permission refusals and enforcement notices.

In the public law arena, Tom has experience advising on regulatory disputes and judicial review challenges, including against planning decisions and successful appeals in the Supreme Court.

Tom’s commercial litigation work involves director and shareholder disputes, commercial debt claims, partnership disputes, and insolvency cases; particularly partnership and insolvency disputes in relation to property in the healthcare sector and acting for GP partnerships.

Prior to qualifying at Capital Law, Tom worked for an international law firm and has previously worked in the planning sector.

Advising clients in relation to an unstable wall adjoining their property, alongside a spread of Japanese Knotweed.

Possession of land
Advising clients on adverse possession of land adjoining their own.

Commercial tenant
Successfully negotiating early settlement with a landlord on behalf of a commercial tenant for rent arrears.
