Rebecca is a Principal Associate in our Employment and Immigration team.
Rebecca advises employers and individuals on the full spectrum of employment law issues, from day-to-day HR matters through to complex litigation, senior exits and strategic workforce projects. She acts for clients across a range of sectors, including healthcare, professional services, financial services and emerging businesses.
Rebecca has overall responsibility for managing Capital Law’s legal services contract with the British Medical Association (BMA) Member Services team, leading the delivery of employment law advice and representation to doctors and medical professionals across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This includes oversight of a high-volume and complex caseload, strategic client relationship management, service delivery, performance monitoring, risk management and the supervision and development of lawyers working under the contract.
Alongside leading on the BMA contract and general advisory work, Rebecca manages a substantial caseload of claimant and respondent employment tribunal litigation, including discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal and contractual disputes. She has significant experience in high-profile and sensitive matters, including cases attracting media interest and cases involving senior professionals and regulated individuals.
Rebecca also has extensive experience advising on and negotiating exits via settlement agreements, including for directors, shareholders and senior executives in sensitive and high-value circumstances.
She has particular expertise in employment status and worker rights issues, having advised and provided training to numerous public and private sector organisations and individuals on employment status, off-payroll working (IR35) and related workforce compliance matters. She has also acted in numerous collective and group claims involving worker rights and holiday pay.

Welsh-based manufacturing site
Advising on employment implications of a retail business closing its Welsh-based manufacturing site following buy out by PLC, assisting with collective redundancy process and overall communications strategy.
Settlement agreements
Advising on and negotiating exits via settlement agreements (and COT 3 agreements), including advising numerous directors/shareholders on complex, sensitive and high-value exits (exceeding £4m).
ET1 and ET3 Responses
Preparing ET1 and ET3 Responses, disclosure exercises/bundle preparation for various clients facing employment tribunal claims, representing clients at preliminary hearings.
Litigation risk/strategy
Advising on litigation risk/strategy, liaising with and supporting instructed counsel, providing guidance to businesses and individuals on tribunal process.
Corporate acquisitions
Providing support on complex corporate acquisitions and sales by assisting with ancillary document preparation, contract drafting/reviews, the application of TUPE and settlement arrangements for departing sellers.
Training
Delivering training sessions on HR/employment law matters including the Equality Act 2010, off-payroll working rules and case law updates for a variety of audiences (including in-house to colleagues round table/industry specific events and both public and private sector clients). Rebecca is also part of the team delivering the Certificate in Employment Law.
International work
Advising/working with various multinational and foreign owned clients, working closely with lawyers from other jurisdictions.
