Lewis is a Solicitor in our Employment and Immigration team.

Lewis joined the Employment team at Capital Law in July 2021. Prior to joining Capital, Lewis trained and practiced in-house with Cardiff Council as an Employment & Education Lawyer.

Lewis advises clients throughout the education sector, from primary schools to universities, on day-to-day employment law issues, as well as education-specific issues such as Additional Learning Needs and governance issues. He regularly represents employers (schools and universities) and employees (teachers and headteachers) in disputes, leading up to and including employment tribunal claims.

Lewis has experience in representing teachers and headteachers in regulatory proceedings in front of the Education Workforce Council, Wales’ education regulatory body.

Lewis assists on the employment aspects of corporate transaction work, including employment due diligence, drafting employment contracts, director service agreements, consultancy agreements, and settlement agreements.

A fluent Welsh speaker, Lewis is happy to offer advice to clients through English and Welsh.

  • Representing a special school in a complex disability discrimination claim.
  • Assisting with the employment aspects of a high-value private equity investment transaction.
  • Representing a school headteacher in fitness-to-practice proceedings in front of the Education Workforce Council.
  • Representing a group of claimants in a group action against an NHS institution for unpaid holiday pay, challenging the issue of worker status.
  • Regularly advising a local authority in Wales on a variety of employment law issues in relation to its primary and secondary schools.
  • Assisting on the employment aspects of the sale of a multinational manufacturing company.
  • Advising Westbridge-backed APEM on its acquisition of NASH Maritime.
  • Advising WestBridge-backed APEM on its acquisition of Aspect Ecology.
