Garyn assists the wider employment team with contentious and non-contentious employment work.

With a keen interest in employment tribunal litigation and discrimination law, Garyn can assist employers and employees throughout the litigation process. He is also an Employment Investigator, and forms part of the HR unit within the Employment and Immigration Team. In addition to conducting complex investigations himself, he can also contribute and advise on them and other HR issues for employers and employees alike. He enjoys advising schools and individual teachers and staff on employment issues within the education sector.

Garyn leads Capital Law’s pro-bono initiative in partnership with Cardiff’s LGBTQ+ Legal Clinic. The purpose of this partnership is to provide people within the LGBTQ+ community with ad-hoc legal advice on employment related issues.

Garyn is bilingual, capable of advising clients in either Welsh or English.

  • Conducting complex investigations on a variety of issues.
  • Conducting staff engagement reviews.
  • Drafting ET3’s and Grounds of Resistance for the UK’s largest logistics company. Most notably, defending claims of unfair dismissal, age discrimination and unlawful deduction of wages.
  • Drafting ET1’s and Particulars of Claims for BMA member services on a variety of claims, including whistleblowing detriment and disability discrimination claims.
  • Complying with a variety of case management orders as part of a growing caseload of Claimant and Respondent litigation.
  • Advising the UK’s fastest growing roadside retailers on a variety of HR related issues and poor management performance.
  • Conducting extensive policy reviews and drafting staff handbooks through the medium of Welsh and English.
