Leading economic crime and compliance specialist joins Capital to strengthen services for commercial clients.

Capital Law has appointed Robert Amaee, an experienced economic crime and compliance lawyer, as Senior Legal Counsel in the Business Crime and Investigations team, marking a significant step in the firm’s growth strategy.

Robert brings 20 years of experience in financial crime, government enforcement, internal investigations and compliance. He was the former Head of Anti-Corruption, Proceeds of Crime and International Assistance at the UK Serious Fraud Office, where he led the investigation and prosecution of some of the UK’s most sophisticated bribery and money laundering cases. He has also been a partner at two US law firms, Covington & Burling LLP and Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP, where he served as the Head of White Collar Crime and Corporate Investigations in London.

Robert has acted for various multinational companies, advised government bodies and multilateral development banks and managed sensitive global investigations, money laundering and corruption work on a national and international scale.
