Banking & Finance

We provide expert commercial advice to banks and borrowers

We’re leading corporate banking and real estate finance lawyers, working with both lenders and borrowers on all forms of finance and secured lending transactions. We can also call on other specialist lawyers on transactions as and when required including corporate, construction and insolvency lawyers.

Our clients include banks, building societies, financial institutions, and large corporates. We advise them on acquisition, corporate and property finance, and we’ve developed expertise in specialist areas, too – like charity and renewables finance.

Finance transactions often involve working within tight timescales. We collaborate with our corporate and real estate law experts, to ensure that lending conditions are satisfied expeditiously, and that security is put in place promptly. We also work closely with our dedicated financial services team to help our clients stay compliant with their regulatory requirements at all times.

We have a strong reputation for advising on ambitious transactions, both in the UK and cross-borders, where we often act as project managers. Our position on the panels of several leading banks and lenders also helps us when negotiating complex funding structures, as we have experience on acting for both sides of the transaction.

Recent work

2023 has been a busy year, working with some of our amazing clients across a range of deal types, including leveraged & acquisition finance, real estate finance, debt restructuring & refinancing, secured and unsecured lending and term & revolving credit facilities. We’ve worked on over 48 deals with a total value of more than £300 million. Watch now to find out more about what our team has been up to recently.

I just wanted to convey what a great job the Capital Law team did in helping me get the transaction to completion. There were a number of last minute issues, as you know, but the team went out of their way to help me to find commercial solutions
