CAT rules in favour of the Gambling Commission in £70m subsidy challenge

On 26 February 2026, the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) handed out a unanimous decision in favour of the Gambling Commission. The CAT dismissed TNLC’s application and confirmed that the Commission did not award a subsidy of c. £70m to Camelot and/or Allwyn under the Third National Lottery licence.
