Capital clocking up miles for food

Throughout April, we’ve challenged our team to clock up a collective distance of 2,500 miles of safe, distanced exercise — while fundraising for local charity, Cardiff Foodbank.

While we are currently experiencing and adhering to social distancing and isolation, we understand the importance of maintaining some level of exercise to keep our minds and bodies healthy.

We at Capital have decided to put our exercise time to good use. We’re clocking up the miles and fundraising for our charity of the year, Cardiff Foodbank. We’ve set a goal of reaching a collective distance of 2,500 miles of exercise in the month of April — through various types of exercise undertaken by our staff. To put that into perspective — that’s almost the same distance as making a trip from Cardiff to Rome — and back!

Be it their one outdoor walk, jog or cycle per day or some static training from the comfort of their home on a treadmill or bike — every mile our employees clock counts.

While trying to reach this target, we want to raise as much funds as possible for Cardiff Foodbank, in a time when they need it most.

*All participants will carry out their exercise within the current COVID-19 guidelines from the government.

About Cardiff Foodbank

Many households across Cardiff are currently under a huge strain — some are suffering loss of income, and many are struggling to make their food and money stretch to meet the needs of their family.

We, like Cardiff Foodbank, don’t want anyone to face going hungry. The funds will raise will help Cardiff foodbank to provide three days-worth of nutritionally balanced food and support to local people who are in a crisis. Cardiff Foodbank need more support than ever during this challenging time for everyone. They have seven centres, and do not receive any government funding — making them solely dependent on donations of money and food.
