Marcus is an experienced disputes lawyer having advised across both commercial and criminal issues. Marcus has acted for businesses and individuals on a range of matters including contractual disputes, internal investigations, class actions, and regulatory defence.
Marcus joined Capital Law from a boutique civil fraud practice, having previously practiced at a specialist litigation and arbitration practice in Auckland.

Secured the acquittal of an individual charged with bribery offences following a six-month trial at Southwark Crown Court.
Internal Bribery Investigation
Assisted in an internal investigation and related criminal proceedings arising from allegations of bribery and false accounting for a leading building services group.
Class Action Dispute
Represented four director defendants in two substantial class actions (funded by separate litigation funders), and parallel FMA pecuniary penalty proceedings and commercial litigations, arising out of the $747m collapse of NZX listed re-insurance company, CBL Corporation.

Assisted in the representation of a company in a dispute with its former accountant seeking compensation from the accountant and their firm for loss resulting from breach of their professional duties.
