Emma is a Solicitor in our Debt Finance team. She advises clients on a wide range of debt finance transactions including senior and mezzanine lending, leveraged and acquisition finance, real estate investment, bilateral and syndicated loans, and secured and unsecured loans with lenders (banks, private equity, and funds) and commercial borrowers both in the UK and abroad.
Emma has extensive experience advising all market players, including lenders and borrowers, in respect of investment, development, and leveraged finance matters, including corporate restructurings and refinancing. Her primary focus has been arranging secured facilities for the purposes of corporate and real estate acquisition and/or development. Emma also has considerable experience advising private equity firms and investment funds on complex transactions.
Having spent five years in the Banking department of an international City firm in a paralegal role, Emma joined Capital Law in 2022, qualifying as a solicitor in March 2025.

Canadian National Banks
Advising two Canadian national banks on the accession of a new English subsidiary to an existing facility for a Canadian banking customer and preparing capacity and enforceability legal opinions in respect of the same.
Household name window company
Working with a household name window company on a new £6.5m debt financing arrangement with a lender to support its acquisition-led growth strategy.
Global logistics company
Providing advice and support for a global logistics company in its capacity as lender to a secured-term loan facility for the development and manufacture of a state-of-the-art electric powered cargo truck.
A private equity house
Working with a private equity house on the refinance of a £4.25m senior secured revolving credit facility, including ensuring the relevant conditions precedent have been satisfied with input from multiple stakeholders.
A national bank
Advising a national bank on the refinance of a £1.6m secured facility and the release of equity in connection with the development of two freehold properties.
Working with a national bank to update its suite of security and finance documentation.
Regularly advising a banking client’s commercial portfolio team in respect of the partial and full redemption of loans to its existing customers and arranging the release of relevant security.
