Capital appointed on Cardiff Metropolitan University’s legal panel

Capital Law has won a tender via the Welsh Government Commercial Delivery team (formerly National Procurement Service), to provide a wide range of legal services to Cardiff Metropolitan University.

The contract, starting in April 2022, covers Employment Law, Corporate Governance and Ethical Standards, and Major IT and Commercial Contracts.

Cardiff Metropolitan University, which was named University of the Year 2021 by the Times Higher Education, is renowned for its EDGE strategy – focusing on Ethical, Digital, Global and Entrepreneurial skills – and for having the greatest number of students starting up companies post-graduation.

Capital’s multidisciplinary team of lawyers will help the university develop its national and international reputation further by offering pragmatic and commercial legal advice.

Trish D’Souza, who leads Capital’s Education team, said:

We are delighted at being appointed to work with Cardiff Metropolitan University. This organisation’s success is proof that the EDGE strategy works and that demonstrating great care and concern for staff and students’ welfare can lead to success both in the UK and on the international stage. We are excited by the prospect of supporting the University as it continues to strive for excellence.

Christine Fraser, University Secretary at Cardiff Metropolitan University, said:

We are looking forward to working with staff at Capital Law, who bring an excellent experience of working with the university sector. Cardiff Met is developing a new strategic plan to take us to 2030 and will be ably supported by colleagues at Capital Law as we grow and build on our success as the Times Higher Education UK and Ireland University of the Year.
