Onecom, the UK’s largest independent business telecommunications provider, has acquired Cardiff-headquartered Glamorgan Telecom Group as part of an ambitious growth strategy designed to triple growth within the next five years.
Capital Law’s corporate team, led by Tom Kelleher working with Elizabeth Cotton, advised Glamorgan Telecom Group on this deal – Onecom’s first since it secured a £100million funding package from LDC and Ares Management Corporation last year.
This acquisition will see Glamorgan Telecom Group – which has grown significantly since completing in 2017 a management buy-out funded by the Development Bank of Wales – become a Onecom company, with its senior leadership, including chief executive officer Kelly Bolderson, remaining with the business.
As well as strengthening Onecom’s services and presence in South Wales and the South West, adding a further 1,400 businesses to its existing 100,000-strong portfolio of customers across the UK, this deal offers significant cross-selling opportunities, as it combines Glamorgan Telecom Group’s established fixed-line telephony offer with its market-leading mobile and cloud-based services.
