On 12 May 2025 the government released its Immigration White Paper, which promised to make sweeping changes to many immigration routes. Shortly after this, on 1 July 2025, the government announced the first wave of changes under the White Paper which mainly impacted the Skilled Worker route, effectively making it harder to recruit and retain talent where sponsorship was required. Further changes were announced on 14 October 2025 and with implementation dates in the coming months.

This session will review these changes, their impact and how businesses are coping with the changes. This session will also cover the changes to right to work checks and widening of this requirement to subcontractors and gig economy workers, and how businesses can ensure they remain on the right side of the illegal working regime.
