NEBOSH offer various qualification levels ranging from multiple choice qualifications to diploma level.

NEBOSH IIRSM Certificate in Managing Risk

Learners enrolled on this course will receive their joining instructions within 10 days of registration, having a further 80 days to complete the online training and examination on the NEBOSH Learning Management System. Learners are entitled to one resit attempt and will receive their downloadable certificate immediately after a successful attempt.

NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

The NEBOSH National General Certificate is widely considered to be a great introduction to a career in health and safety. Also ideal for managers, supervisors and anyone else with health and safety responsibilities, the National General Certificate focuses on management of health and safety and assessing risk.

Employers recognise this qualification to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of health and safety principles, over a wide range of occupations and hazards. Comprised of two units, the General Certificate is assessed in two ways, an online open book examination to test knowledge in relation to a case study and a practical risk assessment of the learner’s workplace to practically apply their newfound knowledge.

NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals

The NEBOSH Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals is considered the highest standard for health and safety management qualifications, as a Level 6 qualification, the Diploma builds upon the foundation set by the NEBOSH National General Certificate. Supporting academic and career growth, the NEBOSH Diploma was developed by experts including previous learners, learning partners, subject experts and stakeholders.

Taught over three modules, the Diploma has three assessments: two case studies and one written examination, completed at the end of each module. This is beneficial as new learners are able to join at any point in the three-module cycle, it is not necessary to begin the course at unit DN1.

NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction

The NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction is the perfect qualification for anyone in the construction industry, from aspiring workers to site workers and managers, contracts managers, CDM Coordinators, engineers, business managers and more. Possession of this qualification signifies one’s commitment to health and safety regarding the risks associated with construction.

With recognition from the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS), this qualification is aligned with CDM regulations and focusses on best practice, to consider safe systems of work, how to challenge unsafe behaviours, managing contractors and advice on duties set by construction legislation.

The learner’s knowledge is assessed by an online scenario-based exam, which the learner can complete in up to 48 hours.

What does NEBOSH stand for?

NEBOSH stands for National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, a UK awarding organisation offering professional qualifications in health, safety, and environmental management.

What are the entry requirements for NEBOSH?

There are no entry requirements for these qualifications, however it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.

NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking NEBOSH qualifications should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

Can I re-sit NEBOSH Courses?

Don’t panic if you have failed one or more of your NEBOSH exams. There are a couple of options available on what next to do. We will offer the practical steps to take which will help you get fully qualified and on the road to advance your career as smoothly and stress-free as possible.

Do I have to attend all days of a NEBOSH Course?

All NEBOSH courses are structured with an estimated completion time, which are shared with students at the start of the course. However, we acknowledge that work and personal commitments may affect your schedule, and we are happy to provide supplementary study materials and recorded sessions to assist you.

What is the NEBOSH General Certificate?

The NEBOSH General Certificate is a level 3 qualification that lays a solid groundwork in health and safety for managers, supervisors, and those embarking on a career in the field. It is the most widely recognised and sought-after health and safety qualification, enabling holders to identify, assess, and manage a broad spectrum of workplace hazards.

How hard is the ‘NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety’ and how long does the course take?

The NEBOSH Diploma is a qualification at degree level, which means that learners need to study at a high standard for a long time. This is to ensure that learners comprehend the concepts and can apply them in a real-life work situation. Previous experience in health and safety is strongly recommended, and those who apply without sufficient background in the field may not be accepted.
