Ella is an Associate in our Construction team.

Ella commenced her training contract with Capital in 2021 and qualified into the Construction team in 2023.

Ella has experience in advising both private and public sector clients on a range of contentious and non-contentious construction work and brings experience in drafting and advising on both the standard form and amended JCT and NEC contracts.

Ella is very knowledgeable in advising on public procurement queries and projects. Ella has most recently assisted in advising a Bridgend college in the procurement of a circa £60+ million development and has delivered training on the new Procurement Act 2023.

Ella also has a particular focus on renewable energy projects, most recently advising Menter Mon on both solar and hydrogen projects and FibreMax on an offshore wind project. She has also advised on power purchase for a solar farm for Rhondda Cynon Taff Local Authority.

Assisting in advising Bridgend College on a £60+ million new campus development, from conception through to contract signature.

Welsh Government
Providing ongoing advice in relation to a major highway concession contract for Welsh Government. Additionally, providing a wide range of procurement advice to the Welsh Government – including a £1 billion education programme and apprenticeship programme, as well as advising on the procurement risks of various post-contractual modifications to a highway concession contract for Welsh Government.

Menter Mon
Advising Menter Mon, a community benefits company, in association with the development of various complex renewable energy projects (including solar and hydrogen).

University of South Wales
Advising University of South Wales in connection with a letter of intent and post-contract award negotiations in relation to a circa £40+ million development.

Connor Prop
Conducting construction due diligence for a property management agency, Connor Prop.

FibreMax
Reviewing and negotiating terms and conditions in respect of a feasibility study for the development of an offshore wind tether manufacturing facility for FibreMax.

Transport for Wales
Assisting in the drafting of a bespoke £80 million quadripartite agreement for Transport for Wales to facilitate increasing rail capacity.

Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council
Assisting in the drafting of a bespoke power purchase agreement in relation to a solar farm on behalf of Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council (RCTCBC). Supporting in the preparation of a complex adjudication claim for RCTCBC where the dispute is circa £3 million. Providing advice to RCTCBC on the exit and re-procurement of a joint venture company, consisting of multiple local authorities and one private company.
