Daud Arghandawi
Daud is a Legal Director in our Commercial Property team and joined in July 2023 having spent the past 7 years working in house for an authority providing award winning green spaces, world class sports venues and ecologically vital wildlife havens and then for London’s largest hotel owner-operator with 5000+ bedrooms.
He is a commercial property specialist with experience of a wide range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, landlord & tenant and portfolio management work, lease and contract negotiations, business sales and purchases, project work and corporate support with significant experience in telecoms leases, renewable energies, the retail and leisure sectors, having acted for a number of large national retailers and household names.
His specialities include:
Lease and contract negotiation and advice for landlords and tenants.
Property investment and management – including buying and selling, finance and re-finance; business restructuring, terminating, transferring, changing or extending leases; managing all property investment interests to protect capital and income.
Healthcare – buying and selling care homes, doctors’ and dentists’ practices and day care nurseries including asset and share transactions, re-financing, advising on the unique requirements and regulatory aspects of these specialist areas.
Secured lending – representing different types of lenders in diverse property finance, long-term and bridging finance.
- Acted in the corporate support sale of Boots to KKR (venture capital).
- Acted in the corporate support purchase of Millets and Blacks by Sports Direct.
- Managing Perfect Pizza and Papa John’s property portfolio.
- Granting a long lease for the Berwick Street Redevelopment in Westminster which included redeveloping the existing offices and shops in the podium block into a mixture of retail, hotel, private and affordable residential accommodation.
- Manage a £ 175 million property lease transaction for a 14 car park portfolio in London.
- Negotiating telecoms leases for the City of Westminster.
- Managing the national property portfolio of Lloyds TSB, HBOS and Cheltenham & Glos whilst being seconded.
- Acting for multiple restaurant chain clients.
- Working as sole in house solicitor when granting long leases for the Olympic legacy venues which included the White Water Centre and the Velodrome along with the Lee Valley Ice Centre and Athletics Centre.
