Are you ready to take the first step in your legal career? At Capital Law, we provide all the legal services a trading organisation needs, working nationally and internationally from our base in Wales. We collaborate with businesses of all sizes – from startups to global corporations – across the private, public, and third sectors.
Our firm is built on the strength of our people. We’re a team of leading lawyers and consultants who work closely with clients to provide the best possible support. Our mission is simple: to help others succeed.
Your Vacation Scheme with Capital Law
We understand that gaining hands-on work experience is vital for those looking to pursue a legal career. Our two-week Vacation Scheme is designed to give you a genuine insight into life at Capital Law, allowing you to develop your skills, expand your legal knowledge, and learn more about what we do. This is also a chance for us to get to know you better and assess your potential for a future Training Contract.
Throughout the scheme, you’ll meet our partners, associates, solicitors, and current trainees, gaining first-hand insight into the work we do and the firm’s culture. You’ll learn about the structure of our work, the nature of our cases and transactions, and what it really takes to succeed in a dynamic legal environment.
What can you expect?
Our Vacation Scheme is immersive and engaging. You’ll be placed in one seat for the duration of the scheme, working alongside our teams on live matters and getting involved in the day-to-day running of the firm. We offer opportunities in the following practice areas:
- Commercial Disputes
- Corporate & Commercial
- Real Estate
- Employment & Immigration
While we will do our best to accommodate your preferences, placement is ultimately dependent on business needs.
You can expect a varied and informative experience that will be of real value to you. During the scheme, you’ll be assigned a ‘buddy’ from within the firm, along with a supervisor in your assigned area of law. In addition to your team-based work, you’ll participate in workshops, group activities, and presentations. Networking events will also give you the opportunity to connect with colleagues across the firm at all levels.
Who can apply?
We welcome applications from individuals who have completed or are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in any discipline and are eligible to apply for our 2026 or 2027 Training Contract intake. If you’re seeking a valuable learning experience where your ideas are welcomed, and you’re ready to make a lasting impression, we want to hear from you.
In return, we offer:
- flexible working: you will have the ability to work between home and the office as required.
- health and wellbeing: subsidised in-person and virtual yoga, wellbeing events and our ‘Time to Move’ scheme, offering colleagues time to simply get away from their desks.
- career development opportunities: we are a fast-growing and ambitious firm. We appreciate and value your ambition, too. We offer promotion opportunities twice a year, supported by a robust and supportive career development framework.
- excellent rewards and benefits: competitive pension scheme, comprehensive health plan, life assurance, option to buy/sell annual leave, recognition scheme, cycle to work scheme, 1x a week Chiropractor onsite, Chef onsite – free lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays, shower facilities onsite, regular social events, and lots more.
- a great location and working environment: Cardiff is a fantastic place to live and work. Our office, in the city centre, is right in the middle of it all, yet only a short drive from some of the best of the Welsh countryside.
This presents an exciting opportunity to join Capital Law in a role that offers crucial support across the business as we experience ongoing growth. If you seek to be part of a company that values and encourages your input, and is both supportive and flexible in its approach, we will welcome your application and look forward to hearing from you.
We’re committed to maintaining an inclusive work environment. We encourage equality and diversity and treat all job applicants and colleagues fairly — regardless of age, gender, disability, ethnicity, religion or any religious or cultural beliefs, marital status and civil partnership, sexual orientation, pregnancy, and maternity. We have no tolerance for discrimination.
Here, we can be ourselves, succeed on merit, and grow with people from all walks of life.
