“The advice and support we have received during what can be stressful and difficult times has been second to none and is far superior to other firms we have tried in the past. I found Capital Law’s understanding of intricate and complex employment issues within the retail environment refreshing with complicated policies explained in an easy to understand format.”

Our retail team works with local, national and international retailers, concessions and online suppliers.

A sector defined by pace and creativity, retail strikes a chord with our lawyers. Our team of employment law, property, dispute resolution and corporate specialists have the level of skill, experience and commitment we think you would expect of your own high achievers.

But there’s more to us than meets the eye. Our lawyers have worked on the shop floor – serving customers, handling stock and operating tills. They have also spent time in-house with retailers. So we suppose you could say that we’re more than just legal experts. We understand how the retail sector works, the systems, the priorities, the problems and the solutions.

And we know that issues with staff, a customer or supplier don’t just crop up between nine and five. More importantly, we recognise that you don’t stop thinking about problems when the closed sign appears. So we try our very best to be available, whenever you need us.

As a matter of fact……

A senior member of our employment team had a real penchant for all things retail in her younger days.

Her first job was, as a teenager, working at a pet store. She moved on to selling shoes and handbags at Stead and Simpsons and from there to Halfords where she developed some intricate knowledge about inner tubes, brake shoes, WD40 and windscreen wipers. Finally, a fruit shop, jewellers, and bar.
