Solicitor
Zena studied History at the University of Newcastle, before gaining her GDL and LPC at the College of Law in Birmingham. She completed her training at a West End law firm, qualifying in 2009, and subsequently joining Capital Law in January 2012.
Zena’s experience includes:
- Imposing changes to contracts of employment - reviewing consultation documentation and proposing tactics for negotiating with senior management team with various incentives.
- Preparation and negotiation of consultancy agreements and service agreements including drafting restrictive covenants, bonus clauses and confidentiality protection.
- Due diligence and TUPE consultation – identifying and dealing with employment issues during fundraisers and acquisitions.
- Redundancy – advising clients engaged in reorgansiations and moving premises.
- Reviewing and redrafting employment documentation and policies and procedures.
- Unfair Dismissal – advising on the merits of unfair dismissal claims, negotiating settlements on behalf of both employees and employers.
- Interim injunctions - drafting without prejudice letters and attending party meetings following an application from a client’s competitor to the RCJ for an injunction to prevent an employee working for the company and contacting their customers.
- Providing training to clients, both in briefing seminars and training sessions for specific HR teams.
