Cardiff-headquartered law firm Capital Law has recruited four new staff members as it builds on recent expansion.
Senior litigation lawyer Philip Jones joins as a consultant from Hugh James. With more than twenty years’ experience of public and private sector dispute resolution, he will be a key player in the firm’s nine-strong commercial disputes team.
Jones specialises in corporate and commercial disputes involving shareholders, breach of warranty, insolvency, fraud, insurance and environmental issues and will work closely with Capital Law’s commercial dispute partners Christopher Nott and Andrew Brown to meet the high level demand for this area of the firm’s business. An experienced arbitrator and trained mediator, Jones will also bolster the team’s expertise in alternative dispute resolution.
Commercial accountant Sarah Vice has been recruited to the firm’s financial management team. A member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Sarah spent nine years at Eversheds, latterly as Finance Training Manager across the international business. She will work alongside Capital Law’s chartered accountant Anita Warburton dealing with monthly accounts and budgeting as well as specific accounting for the firm’s property management division.
Two trainee solicitors have also been recruited. Aberystwyth University graduate Guto Llewelyn and Iwan Williams who studied at Cardiff University will spend time in a number of the firm’s teams. Both are fluent Welsh speakers who will enhance the firm’s bilingual service.
Capital Law’s senior partner and head of the commercial disputes team Christopher Nott said
“We consider ourselves fortunate in the current climate to need to take on more people. Each of our new recruits fits very well into our business which has, over the last couple of years, taken a number of new directions in response to client demand. We opened a London office to service clients based there and overseas and last year we bought the management consultancy, Holistic Services, to develop the human resources consultancy we already operated.
“Our aim is to offer a truly rounded service and our recent round of recruitment marks our ongoing commitment to this.”
